Click here for a larger image of The Schooner Atlantic, Built by Ralph W. PrestonThe bottle is 16 inches long and 9 inches in diameter. The neck of the bottle is about an inch inside diameter.  Bottle made by Church and Maple Glass Studio of Burlington, Vermont and was specially made for this model. The model took nine months [800 hours] to build.

In 1905, the ship won a race from Sandy Hook, New Jersey, to England. It was a full day ahead of its nearest competitor. This time was to stand for 75 years.

The Atlantic was exhibited by the U.S. Naval Museum in Washington, D.C., during the summer and fall of 1997.
